Great airport. We usually fly here during Christmas because of convenient nonstop flights from our home city. It’s nice. Nice Clear and TSA staff, clean, and friendly people at ticketing (not the best people in my opinion) . Small United Lounge food but it’s alright (located near Gate C5) . But the food there was tasty though. The lady there that checked us in for us to enter the lounge was super nice. People at the gate was nice as well. So, to sum it up, great airport. 3rd favorite airport out of all the rest I been to, not the best though. Anyways, great airport. Other than the elevators that they have there haha 😛 .

The new MSY terminal is definitely an upgrade compared to the old terminal. Logistically, parking and rental shuttles as well as rideshare services all use one curb which alleviates some of the traffic for passenger pick-up. Navigating through the airport could be challenging if you’re new to the terminal and you use the shuttle service upon arrival. All shuttle services drop the passengers on the lower level which is the same level and baggage claim. A passenger should enter the main doors and proceed to floor 3 for check-in with the individual airlines. The airlines are along the wall, and most have Customer Service agents ready to assist upon arrival. After checking in, passengers should then proceed to floor 2 where there is a central TSA checkpoint for all gates and airlines. Good news, the new terminal now offers Clear along with TSA Pre-Check which is great for frequent travelers. My usual wait time is no more than 10 minutes when traveling through. However, the general line could have longer wait times at peak hours during the day. The new restaurant options are amazing, and I am certain there is an option for fulfill your hunger needs. As far as seating, the new terminal has plenty of seating areas throughout for passenger. You can also find charging ports throughout on some of the seats. The free wifi works fairly well, so if you need to do some work, there should not be any issues. My only negative comment is the Club MSY lounge is usually full, and the wait time could run into your flight time which means you will have to sit in the terminal. The views are amazing, but if you’re looking to get away from the noise, and try some of the amazing food the lounge offers, then I suggest you arrive at the three hour window ahead of your flight to ensure you can have at least an hour in the lounge. Other than that, the staff is friendly throughout the terminal, and I haven’t had any issues with the restaurants throughout. I have tried several, and the food was good at each one. Overall, you can expect a new experience in the new terminal. Even at the peak, I was still able to find seating in the terminal. When I don’t have enough time to sit and eat, I usually order takeout. The food is usually ready within 10-15 minutes. I would recommend traveling through MSY to access destinations worldwide.

Pretty cool airport, it looks like they refurbished it and created a whole new terminal but it looks great and upgraded, even the bathrooms which look out on the apron! Pretty cool and looks advanced, the only issue is the car rental place is a shuttle away so that can take a while to get there.

Good food choices. Give urself time because it was pretty busy. Had a layover here n found a good spot; terminal not in use to nap. There was also a good family restroom that worked good to freshen up for the day.

An excellent airport for the size of the city! Recent design with modem and clean looks. Excellent WiFi and charging station options. Provides a good variety of restaurants and bars for the size of the airport as well!

Great decorations. Easy drop. Lines are not very long. But TSA IS A HEADACHE! Some are nice but others are very rude. They treat the Flight Attendants and Pilots like an EX boyfriend. They check you bags just to make you late. Scanning your bags two or three times opening your luggage just to amuse themselves. All to say your okay have a nice day. I know they have a job to do but there is no reason to be rude. They have nice paintings all over the terminal so be sure to check them out. Tip go early to avoid being delayed by TSA.

My flight was due to leave at 6 am I got to the airport super early I have to have wheelchair assiatance. Checking in was great she was pleasant, when I go through security whew that’s where it goes down hill I failed a alarm they had to do a more indept screening well by the time they were done and I passed I’d missed my flight. They need better equipment or more up to date equipment TSA need to speed up there’s no reason they should move so slow. And lastly the girl checking the boarding passes was rude rude rude this airport really need to get professional workers. There are a few professional workers there. In the future I’ll be flying in to Texarkana Texas. SMFH

Well run. For a regional airport you’re to expect some lower level of service but that isn’t the case. The few times I have flown from here it is always well run and as hassle-free as it can be for an airport.

Park at your own risk! Nice facility, check in and boarding are smooth. Nice people. Clean facility. AND ALSO: The short term parking (first lot as one drives in, used when picking up an arrival) is very problematic. Twice now I have been trapped in the lot while trying to leave. Very stressful. The first time I had a line of cars behind me waiting. Last night it happened again at 10pm and thankfully a kind attendant was–by chance–there to set us free. She said that people are trapped like that all the time and all she could suggest was filing a complaint. Do NOT park in the short-term lot unless you want to risk getting trapped. Last night at the front of the airport there was a long line of cars parked, waiting for arrivals. I found that to be surprising, as it prohibited to park there. You’d better believe I will be in that line of cars next time I pick up an arrival. Or I’ll just circle around until the person arriving is ready.

Will break it down into the Clint Eastwood Category. . The Good, The Bad and the Ugly. Good is for the Delta Reps, appreciate you ladies for doing what you did to assist me today in trying to get an earlier flight and answering all my questions, as well as the TSA Staff being happy and joking around. . .Sgt Kyles, Thanks for keeping “all safe and secure”. . The Bad and the Ugly. . . Shreveport Airport Folks. . .do something to get more flights in. I find it hard to believe that nothing can not be done to get more flights in so folks don’t have to go to Dallas or surrounding areas. If your gonna make a go at it, make a go. . Don’t just fix the cosmetics with the airport, albeit that is appreciated. . . Look into getting more flights in so that will assist with the growth of the airport. . .in closing, I feel the employees are doing well. . .supervision, not so much. I know, when my schedule allows, I fly out of Dallas. . .like a bunch of folks do. . .will I continue to use Shreveport Airport, I will to support it but hopefully changes in the future.

While this does not reflect on the airport itself, but the four car rental agencies are not open 24/7 while online you can book a car for pick-up any time, night or day. We arrived at close to midnight to pick-up from Avis only to find they had already closed at 11 PM. We had to return to the airport the next day for the rental car. This was a hassle and unimpressive. While the airport was clean and staff were helpful when they could be, the experience was significantly lessened by the interactions with the Avis representative.

Be very aware of your flight departing times, as they might not update the screens and just start boarding anyway. If you’re unaware, you might lose your flight.

🛫I absolutely love coming to the BR airport. My biggest fear throughout my whole life was falling from a very high spot.. / flying in an airplane and crashing/falling. BUT I recently met someone who has become a very good friend of mine. He happens to be a PILOT 🧑🏻‍✈️! … Not only that but he also owns his own plane! 🛩️. So thankfully I got to experience my first plane ride with someone I trust, and is a good friend. It helped with the scary fears and “all of the unknown of flying”. Within idk…20 minutes about..I was having the time of my life. Now I want to fly on a daily basis! 🤣. And definitely would if it were possible.. Kinda got off subject with the airport and onto my experience. 😂 I’ve only seen a few airports.. so comparing them all to BTR…baton rouge is definitely the nicest and biggest! 🛬

Is it the biggest airport you’ve ever been to? Nope. Are there lots of amenities? Not really. But, you’d have a hard time finding an airport with more friendly employees. Our own personal experience today was the need to get a family member with mobility issues checked in and through security. A gentleman met us as soon as we walked through the door and asked how he could help. From that moment on, he took charge. Working with the ticket agents and through to security, it was so nice to have someone care. You can’t beat the convenience of having an airport with connections here in Baton Rouge. Nice to not have to drive to New Orleans for everything. And it turns out that most the time, you’re not really going to save a whole lot of money by going to a different airport anyway. So why not take advantage of a hidden gem?

Smaller metropolitan airport with short TSA lines and clean waiting areas. The rocking chairs with a good view are an added bonus.

I love small regional airports, and this one is one of my favorites. Its clean, easy to navigate and not far from the town. The people in the security area are friendly and polite. The dining area is clean and spacious. There’s a cool-looking circular bar, and a bistro coffee/sandwich/salad eatery with several tasty options. The rental car drop-off area is a short walk from the terminal.

It’s a nice and small airport. Very easy to get in and out. They have one restaurant and bar in the middle that has decent options. Very clean and well managed airport.

Brand new Lafayette Regional Airport!!! Its brand new and fancy. No carpet, so it smells better. Tons of windows for plenty of sunlight. It’s really nice. Had a heck of a time getting out of short term parking but it was fun trying to figure it out and funny watching everyone else struggling too.

Really great experience on my last flight here. Nick the bartender was awesome, and helped me create some great drinks. I was quite anxious and sad about leaving Louisiana, and he calmed me down quickly and helped me enjoy my last hour in the state. The check in, baggage, and overall service was smooth, and quite effortless. Can’t wait to fly back in March.

Everytime I use this airport it’s a worse experience. Some of that has to do with military travel and the nightmare that is American Airlines, but let me share my experience: Flight was canceled due to weather. Agent at gate rebooked flight however he only rebooked a portion and told me when I got to Dallas to finish booking it as I was only going to JFK not to Athens. Bags were then left at JFK when I arrived in Athens and took 4 more days to arrive. Not completely the airports fault, but this brings me to number 2 I arrived at the airport 37 minutes early for a domestic flight. Sounds like not a lot of time, but this airport is small. There’s not a lot to do here and it takes less than 10 minutes to get through security. Agents won’t even be at the desk if You get here too early. I was told I could not check my military bags as the cutoff is 45 mins prior. It’s not posted on a ticket. It’s not on the itinerary. It’s an arbitrary number made up. Someone is going to say you should know to arrive more early. I would agree in most cases. I grew up using HJIA in ATL. There you def arrive more than 37 mins early, but there’s also a ticketing agent there at all times. Here the agent will arrive 1 hour prior which leaves you a 15 minute window to check your bags. That is ridiculous. I’ll add a photo of what it looks like one hour before a flight for reference. Do yourself a favor and fly out of Houston.

AEX is small and quaint but packs a surprising punch with its cleanliness and the courtesy and professionalism of the staff working there. I just wish it wasn’t so expensive to fly out of the airport. Other than that, this reviewer cannot say anything derogatory about the airport.

I arrived at this airport at 5:29pm to catch a 6:30pm flight, which means prior to the 45min requested by American Airlines. To my surprise, American Airlines check-in desk was already closed. More people were already waiting, and more people arrived after us. I was able to talk to someone from the airport, which told us we had lost our flight already because we arrived late! I asked her what time they close, and she said 30min prior to the flight (it was 5:40pm at that time, so still 50min before the flight). Since we already had our boarding passes, we went thru security with all our bags. We had to leave behind important belongings, such as expensive liquors and cosmetics. We were able to catch the flight in the end, but thanks to my insistence only (since American closed its check in 30min earlier, and the AEX worker told us we had lost our flight already). Terrible experience. From now on, I will fly United from Lafayette the most as I can.
By Pedro Paulo Cardozo de Mello Junior (2 months ago)
First, American Airlines has become a joke with its constant delays. Then the staff at the counter for American are nasty and mean. The employee weighed my bag at 2 different scales and came up with 2 different weights. Hmm, didn’t know weights could change like that, but ok. And he did not want to answer my questions about connecting flight, that I would miss because of their delay! So, get up to security and they are closed! I tried asking the “deputy”, and she was just as nasty, stated they’ll open before the flight leaves…well I hope so! Geez, don’t like your job?? Find one you do and stay out of customer service!
