The Des Moines airport is pretty small and easy to navigate. Checking in does not take a lot of time and neither does going through the airport security. The place is tidy and has a lot of labels so you will not miss your gate. I am not sure how ticket fairs are compared to other airports. Will recommend buying tickets way ahead of time if you know your travel plans.

Des Moines International Airport has excellent flight options and efficient customer support with desired amenities. They are in the planning phase for a new terminal and will focus on the customer throughout design and implementation.

DSM is a tiny airport. They have grown recently, but still have a total of about 10 gates. This is great if you have airport anxiety, but it can be very tricky if your flight is delayed or canceled because there are not many flights coming in or out each day. Also most of the flights are regional, so if you are making a longer trip out of or into DSM expect it to have a connection. Additionally there are not many food options, so if your flight is delayed or if you have a very early flight you will be eating from the vending machines. On the upside the airport is always clean and never crowded. TSA is the worst at about 5am because the highest density of flights is around 6 each morning.

Thankful that this is our home airport! Friendly people, a good TSA staff, and multiple places to get food and drink once you’re through security. After deplaning, it’s a quick walk from any gate to the curb. There is ample parking, and there are good long-term parking shuttles, too. Parking is affordable, and entering/exiting the parking facilities is quick. This airport has been the starting point of many memorable journeys!

It always seems to be fast to get through security here. During busy travel times I’ve never waited more than 30 minutes. The line consistently moves. They get you through. They will make you take all electronics out of your bag (phone, laptop, tablet, kindle). Easy to navigate terminal and has always been clean.

Usually when I fly to Iowa, I either fly into the Quad Cities or Des Moines, but this time Cedar Rapids happened to be the best option based on my itinerary. As a frequent flyer, I have to admit I wasn’t expecting much from CID, but have to say they have made sure to have a very modern terminal, an easy security checkpoint (especially if you have Pre Check), decent conncession options post-security, and ample seating in many of the gate areas.

I had a great experience at this airport! It is quiet and peaceful – didn’t know that was possible for an airport. It is very clean and easy to navigate. It’s very small (9 gates) and security was a breeze.

This airport and Madison, WI airports are my favorite to fly from. They’re small and extremely easy to navigate. The TSA lines don’t take long to get through either. There’s not much for food options, which is fine for me because I always make sure to eat before going to the airport anyway. The staff has never been rude

Haven’t used the airport in years. The new terminal is simply beautiful. Spacious and comfortable with awesome use of wood and stone in the construction. Everyone was Iowa Nice, including the TSA guys.

Lots of things to like about having a small airport nearby… but waiting for baggage isn’t one of them. My wife and I landed around 9:45pm after a long day of travel. I got the car and pulled up outside while she has waited for the bags. It’s been over 40 min of waiting at baggage claim, no bags have arrived at baggage claim yet. They know a plane is coming in, why isn’t this place staffed appropriately to handle the baggage?

Small airport, super quick to go in and out. Our flight was 3+ hours late landing after midnight in a snow storm, the staff was quick nice & efficient. Got bags in a timely matter, and the roads were shoveled. Highly recommend! Wish there were more options flying in though

The new airport is absolutely beautiful and well organized. It’s sometimes inconvenient that the flights only go to Chicago though. However, everything looks clean, the staff is friendly, and the place seems to be state of the art. I do think it’s silly that there are 3 gates. There’s only one flight that comes and goes at a time at this point, maybe more flights are to come?

While DBQ is a small airport, the team there is very friendly. It is sad that AA is pulling out as I frequent this airport 4 to 5 times a year.

Brand new an it is so unorganized, who hired the people who planned this? First update your directions with Google maps, an have a better sign saying you moved the terminal never seen it tell I left the old terminal an why do I now have to pass the terminal to get to it? Could of been an entrance right where the old entrance was no reason to drive 1/4 mile out of my way to get to a terminal that I can see poor planning wasted money an these people are responsible for hiring pilots for us

Jeff, went above and beyond for us tonight! He waited after close for us to be able to pick up my moms suitcase, cause she missed her connecting flight to Chicago. This was an emergency as we had a funeral service for her brother in the morning who passed from covid complications early this week, who coincidently is named “Jeff” he was a angel for sure! Two thumbs up and five stars to Jeff!

Pretty little airport with Iowa Hospitality 😍 UPDATE: I am traveling with a child and the TSA workers offered us a sticker and a coloring book. This is so sweet 🥰

Fort Dodge Regional Airport is one of the cleanest airports we have ever landed at. Very friendly people. Only downside was they only had 1 courtesy vehicle available. Downtown is like visiting a little Chicago but very few downtown shops which was sad to see. Quick Cab was inexpensive however their cabs didn’t have one operating speedometer. Hmmmm…

The people who work here are always so friendly and helpful. It’s a nice place for a layover. The first time I landed there, I thought we were landing in a cornfield, but then suddenly there’s a runway. It’s fun! As far as the facility and location of the airport, it’s very clean, very small with no stores or restaurants. And I don’t believe it’s connected with public transportation and it’s not within walking distance to anything. So pack a meal in your carry-on (yes, you can do that).

A huge thank you to those that run the airport in Fort Dodge!! The Wednesday before Thanksgiving the weather was rather rotten, as it can be this time of year in Iowa. I was certain my flight would be delayed at best and not be allowed in the air at worst. The staff at the airport were amazing!!!! They talked with the pilot of the plane, unable to land on the assigned runway and prepared a runway the plane could safely land on, thus, allowing us all to board and take off. The plane was delayed, but so were those in the major airports, so catching my connecting flight worked out, as did 99% of those with me. The amazing difference between the Fort Dodge Airport and the other larger airports I had connections in was communication. We were told what was happening. We did not have to watch a board and wait. A human being talked with us through the various stages of the events. It was wonderful! A big thank you!!!!

MC TSA lady operated like a prison guard, barking orders at passengers. This happened last time I flew through here. The airport is convenient, but they need to brush up on customer skills.

Small but very convenient airport with one daily flight to Chicago.

Easy in and out with 1 gate and TSA pre-check – restaurant/bar down the hall. Area after security is very small, but they let us board early so that was helpful! Less than an hour flight to Chicago Ohare!!!

I love Mason city airport. Small, cozy, free parking, free wifi, friendly staff, best TSA agents, fast security check. Now United has flights going to India through Chicago. A Blessing for local Indian diaspora.
